Historic Ford Tri-Motor Flights, Hosted by EAA Chapter 1240, at Sebring’s Expo

Adults and children will be able to recall the energy, passion, and excitement of the roaring ’20s by flying aboard the Ford Tri-Motor this January 24-27 at the Sebring Regional Airport as a part of the U.S. Sport Aviation Expo. Known as the first luxury airliner, the Ford Tri-Motor redefined world travel and marked the beginning of commercial flight.

EAA Heartland Chapter 1240 has been chosen to host one of the stops on this year’s EAA Ford Tri-Motor tour. Sebring Expo attendees may purchase rides on the aircraft in advance or on site at the event and really imagine what it was like to fly on the premier airliner of the 1920s and 1930s. Funds received from ticket sales will be used to keep the Tri-Motor tour alive and help local EAA Chapter 1240 continue to provide additional youth aviation activities.


2nd & 3rd Class Medical Exams are being offered again

2nd and 3rd Class Medical Exams Sponsored By HRMC This on-site benefit is again being offered to all pilots attending this year. Leading Edge Flight Training School at Sebring Airport

Leading Edge Flight Training School is ready and open for business with a Cessna 172 and a Lake Amphibian Seaplane. The school is also offering simulator training on the Redbird FMX, a superior-quality, full motion, Advanced Aviation Training Device. INTRODUCING HENDRICKS: The new MASCOT for Sebring’s U.S. Sport Aviation Expo, a Playful Choice While Paying Homage to Area Aviation History.

MAY 18, 2017, Sebring Florida – Today SAA staff and Executive Director, Mike Willingham and his team proudly present Hendricks, the new MASCOT to represent all that is exciting, educational and fun about Sebring’s U.S. Sport Aviation Expo.

Hendricks who is (clearly) colorful and dynamic embodies many of the same traits as the hundreds of aviators and aviation enthusiasts that attend the iconic event every year!

The name Hendricks is a historical one and pays homage to the B-17 pilot school that once operated near Sebring – Hendricks Field. The flight school operated from 1942 to 1945 and was named in honor of 1st lt. Laird Woodruff Hendricks, Jr.
